Don't tell the twins that—they may be unrepentant psychopaths [don't like the term because it sounds deranged, but the DSM-IV has spoken] but they do have emotions. Selfish ones, but emotions still.

They are just as puzzled by it—

—but the people are unaffected, so they feel no need to be concerned and thus they lose little sleep over it.
The twins feel better for that—it's hard for anyone to carry out the business they do when they're bothered by a standard-issue conscience.
